AMR Events

The Alternative Monopoly Run is a Scout fundraising event designed to allow the staff who organise and run the event to raise funds for their chosen activity or cause within Scouting. The idea being that they get involved in the preparation, together with the actual day-to- day running of the weekend, in order to allow others to enjoy a fantastic Monopoly Run and in return for their services hopefully raise some funds. In 2020 we are hoping to raise enough funds for staff members to attend several Scouting events, as usual. We try to encourage Explorer Scouts to apply as staff who will be overseen by the Leaders. This allows the Explorers to learn a variety of skills needed to run a large event, including organisation, communication and accounting. The Explorers and Leaders are largely from the Gwent & Cardiff and Vale areas of South Wales. Any funds raised will be split between the staff to go towards their Scouting event or cause. The event has other staff involved, one of the main contributors being FLAGS Scouts Active Support Unit, who have supported the event from the very beginning.
